When we saw cases for Apple’s new iPhone SE begin arriving at retailers, we speculated that the launch of the new low-cost iPhone could be near. Now a new report says that that’s the case.
Apple is reportedly planning to begin taking orders for its new iPhone SE as soon as tomorrow, April 3rd. The folks at 9to5Mac have gotten information on the device from a “highly trusted reader” that suggests that Apple is ready to start selling the new iPhone soon and that the device will simply be known as “iPhone SE”, not iPhone 9 or iPhone SE 2.
Today’s report also claims that the new iPhone SE will be available in White, Black, and (PRODUCT) RED color options and 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage options.
Apple is purportedly planning to sell black and white silicone cases for the phone as well as red, black, and midnight blue leather cases.
There’s no new pricing information contained in today’s report, but we’ve heard previously that the new iPhone SE could start at $399, which is the same price that the original iPhone SE launched at in 2016. This new iPhone SE is expected to have the same design as the iPhone 8 (shown above), including a Home button with Touch ID fingerprint reader. The big upgrade will allegedly be an A13 Bionic processor, which is also found in Apple’s flagship iPhone 11 and 11 Pro.
