Google Pixel 4 photographed out in the wild

Google Pixel 4 in the wild

Google may have recently given us an early look at the Pixel 4, but that doesn’t mean that the leaks of the device will be stopping.

New photos that appear to show the Google Pixel 4 in the wild have made their way online. Shared by 9to5Google, the images show a device with the same square camera module as the Pixel 4 that includes two cameras, a flash on the bottom, and another sensor up top.

The device appears to be in a case, possibly a fabric case similar to the ones Google has sold for previous Pixel phones. There’s a small hole in the top of the case that may be meant for a microphone, which could be used for things like noise cancellation.

While we don’t get to see the front of the Pixel 4 in these photos, the person who took the images says that the phone has a large “forehead” with two front-facing cameras. It’s unclear if this device is the standard Pixel 4 or the Pixel 4 XL, but this forehead could be good news for folks who hated the Pixel 3 XL’s notch.

Google Pixel 4 photo leak

We regularly see smartphones photographed early as they’re being tested in the wild before their public release, and they almost always have a case on to obscure their real design. That’s probably what’s happening here, and while this leak isn’t quite as big a deal as it normally might have been after Google surprised us with an official Pixel 4 image, it’s still interesting to get another early look at Google’s next big thing.
