With the U.S. trade ban on Huawei, there have been some concerns about existing phones and their ability to get Android updates. Today Huawei is trying to assuage those fears by confirming Android Q updates for 17 different devices.

On a site called Huawei Answers, the company says that it’s “confident” that several of its phones will get Android Q. Huawei has begun technical preparations and testing of Android Q updates for more than 17 products, with the following models already submitted for Android Q updates:

  • P30 Pro
  • P30
  • Mate 20
  • Mate 20 Pro
  • PORSCHE DESIGN Mate 20 RS
  • P30 lite
  • P smart 2019
  • P smart+ 2019
  • P smart Z
  • Mate 20 X
  • Mate 20 X (5G)
  • P20 Pro
  • P20
  • Mate 10 Pro
  • PORSCHE DESIGN Mate 10
  • Mate 10
  • Mate 20 Lite

“At Huawei, we always put our consumers first, regardless of the challenges we face,” Huawei said in a statement. The company goes on to say that anyone who has already bought or will soon buy a Huawei smartphone can continue to access Android apps like they’ve always done. Those devices will also continue to be covered by a manufacturer’s warranty and receive full service support.

As a result of the U.S. export ban on Huawei, we’ve seen several companies suspend business with Huawei, including major names like Qualcomm and ARM. It’s no surprise that some Huawei device owners might be concerned that their phones would no longer receive Android OS updates, and those folks who bought recent models like the P30 and P30 Pro are likely especially worried about their future updates. For now, Huawei says they can rest easy.
