OnePlus 6 and 6T updates bring August security patches, new Fnatic gaming mode, and more

OnePlus 6 and 6T owners, there’s a new update headed your way.

OnePlus today announced OxygenOS 9.0.16 for the OnePlus 6T and OxygenOS 9.0.8 for the OnePlus 6. These updates include the August 2019 Android security patches, Quick Reply in landscape mode, a new Fnatic gaming mode, more Zen Mode features, and more.

Here’s the official changelog for these updates from OnePlus:

System

  • Optimized pocket mode
  • Fixed an issue with apps failing to respond
  • Fixed an issue to unlock apps successfully using fingerprint when the screen recorder is turned on
  • Added Quick reply in landscape mode (Settings – Utilities – Quick reply in landscape)
  • Android security patch updated to 2019.08
  • General bug fixes and stability improvements

Launcher

  • Added password settings for Hidden Space

Gaming Mode

  • Introduced brand new Fnatic mode for an immersive gaming experience, More surprises on the way

Zen mode

  • Added additional Zen mode features

OnePlus Laboratory

  • Added the DC dimming feature

Communication

  • Support VoLTE/VoWiFi for Bouygues

This update is now rolling out over the air, but as with most OnePlus updates, it’s only going out to a small number of OnePlus 6 and 6T customers to start. After OnePlus has confirmed that everything is working smoothly, it’ll begin a broader rollout.
