OPPO today took the wraps off of two new devices, including its first Wear OS smartwatch.
The OPPO Watch actually features the same design as the smartwatch that OPPO introduced earlier this year. But while that model that launched in China ran OPPO’s customized ColorOS, this new international model runs regular Wear OS.
OPPO is offering its WearOS-powered Watch in two sizes: 46mm and 41mm. The larger model comes with a 1.91-inch 402×476 AMOLED dual curved display and a 430mAh battery that’ll last 36 hours with normal use or up to 21 days in Power Saver mode. And when you need to recharge, you can get from 0% to 46% in just 15 minutes thanks to OPPO’s Watch VOOC Flash Charging tech.
Meanwhile, the smaller 41mm model has a 1.6-inch 320×360 flat AMOLED display and 300mAh battery. That battery is rated to last 24 hours with normal usage or up to 14 days in Power Saver mode. And just like its bigger sibling, the 41mm watch has Watch VOOC Flash Charging.
Other specs for the two OPPO Watch models are fairly similar. They’ve both got a Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage, and they include GPS and NFC sensors.
Both models also include an optical heart rate sensor for tracking your workouts, and the 46mm model includes 5ATM water resistance while the 41mm has 3ATM water resistance so you can take them swimming. Both watches also offer sleep monitoring as well.
The OPPO Watch will launch in India on August 10, with pricing starting at ₹14,990 ($200 USD) for the 41mm version and ₹19,990 ($267 USD) for the 46mm model.
Also introduced today is the Reno 4 Pro smartphone. Meant to take on other aggressively-priced Android devices like the OnePlus Nord, the OPPO Reno 4 Pro features a 6.5-inch 2400×1080 AMOLED display with curved edges and a 90Hz refresh rate. That screen also has a 32MP hole-punch selfie cam.
Around back is a quad camera setup in a rectangular camera bump. The main cam is a 48MP snapper with Sony IMX586 sensor and it’s paired with an 8MP wide angle camera, 2MP macro camera for close-up photos, and a 2MP mono camera.
Inside the Reno 4 Pro is a Snapdragon 720G processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. A microSD card slot will let you add more storage if you need it. There’s a 4000mAh battery powering the new phone, and with OPPO’s 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging, you can recharge from 0% to 49% in 10 minutes or go from 0% to 100% in 36 minutes.
OPPO will launch the Reno 4 Pro in India starting August 5 in Silky White and Starry Night versions with a matte finish that resists fingerprints. Pricing will be set at ₹34,990 ($467 USD).
