The high-refresh rate display is a trendy feature in high-end smartphones now, especially when it comes to gaming phones. There have been a few phones that’ve launched with 120Hz displays, but Red Magic’s new device pushes things to 144Hz.

The Red Magic 5G is a new gaming phone that sports the world’s first 144Hz refresh rate display on a gaming phone. The 6.65-inch AMOLED screen also features an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Because the Red Magic 5G is a gaming phone, you might be expecting it to be loaded up with high-end specs. You’d be right. It’s got an octa-core Snapdragon 865 processor paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage, both of which offer faster performance than previous generations.

Red Magic has also given its new phone built-in shoulder trigger buttons to give you a better gaming experience. These triggers have a 300Hz touch refresh rate and 2ms touch delay to better emulate the feel of a real controller.

There’s a triple rear camera setup on the Red Magic 5G that includes a 64MP main camera with Sony IMX686 sensor as well as an 8MP wide angle camera and 2MP depth camera for portrait mode photos with bokeh. Around front is a 12MP selfie camera.

Rounding out the Red Magic 5G’s feature set is a 4500mAh battery that supports up to 55W fast charging.

With its shoulder buttons and unique design, there’s no doubt that the Red Magic 5G is a gaming phone. Its specs could make it a pretty attractive option to just about any phone enthusiast, though, offering the latest Snapdragon processor, a bunch of RAM, and a display with a super high refresh rate.
