Samsung Galaxy Note 10 renders show hole-punch and no 3.5mm headphone jack

We’ve heard lots of rumors lately about the Galaxy Note 10 and its features, but today we may be getting our first look at Samsung’s next big thing.

New renders claim to show off the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and the changes that it’ll bring compared to last year’s Note 9. Shared by OnLeaks and 91mobiles, these renders are based off of factory CAD drawings and are not official renders made by Samsung.

Getting to the device, the first big change is the hole-punch. Like the Galaxy S10, this Galaxy Note 10 features a hole-punch in its display where the front-facing camera lives. Rather than being off in the upper right corner of the screen like on the Galaxy S10, though, the Galaxy Note 10’s hole-punch is in the center of the display near the top.

Another notable change is on the back of the phone. The dual rear cameras on the Note 9 were horizontally aligned and placed in the center of the phone’s backside, but on the Note 10, the rear cameras are vertically aligned and are off to the side. Also of note is that there are three rear cameras on the Note 10. It’s unclear what the three cameras will do, but the Note 9 has one wide angle camera and one telephoto camera, so the Note 10’s third camera could be an ultra wide angle snapper like on the S10.

There’s no fingerprint reader on the back of this Note 10, suggesting that like the S10, it’ll adopt an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Rumors have suggested that the Galaxy Note 10 may lack a 3.5mm headphone jack, and that is supported by these renders. There’s no dedicated Bixby button, either, but there are power and volume buttons along with a USB-C port and an S Pen.

Today’s report says that the Galaxy Note 10 will measure 151 x 72 x 7.9mm. To compare, the Galaxy Note 9 measures 161.9 x 76.4 x 8.8mm.

So far, the Galaxy Note 10 looks like it could be a bit of mixed bag, with some upgrades that’ll please folks but other changes that’ll frustrate. The slimmer bezels and added functionality of a third camera should be nice, and the smaller size should make what is traditionally a big phone a bit easier to handle. However, some folks will be frustrated if there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack, especially since Samsung’s Galaxy flagships are some of the last major smartphones that’ve still be equipped with 3.5mm jacks up to now.
