Rumors of a Galaxy Watch 3 have been circulating in recent weeks, but so far there haven’t been any details on what upgrades this new model would offer over the previous Galaxy Watch (shown above). That’s changing today as specs for the Galaxy Watch 3 have leaked out.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 will come in 41mm and 45mm case sizes with 1.2-inch and 1.4-inch displays, respectively, reports SamMobile. To compare, the original Galaxy Watch is available in 42mm and 46mm sizes with 1.2-inch and 1.3-inch screens.
The dimensions of the larger watch are said to be 45mm x 46.2mm x 11.1mm while the smaller watch is 41mm x 42.5mm x 11.3mm. Both Galaxy Watch 3 models are smaller than their Galaxy Watch counterparts.
Also smaller on the Galaxy Watch 3 are the batteries. The 45mm model is expected to have a 340mAh battery while the 41mm version gets a 247mAh battery, down from the 472mAh and 270mAh batteries of the Galaxy Watch. Both models of the Galaxy Watch 3 are expected to get slightly more RAM, though: 1GB vs 0.75GB.
Other features expected to be included with the Galaxy Watch 3 include stainless steel and titanium case options, 8GB of storage, IP68 water and dust resistance, and a MIL-STD-810G design. They’ll reportedly both get a heart rate monitor, support for blood pressure monitoring, and an ECG sensor, too.
Finally, both watches are expected to come preloaded with Tizen OS 5.5, and they’ll have a rotating bezel to help you navigate that software.
The original Galaxy Watch launched in late 2018 with a design similar to an analog watch, but then Samsung skipped making a sequel in 2019 and opted instead to release two sporty Galaxy Watch Active models. While we don’t yet know exactly what the Galaxy Watch 3 will look like, it could be a return to the analog watch-style design of the original Galaxy Watch.
Samsung is reportedly going to introduce the Galaxy Watch 3 in July, so we may not have to wait long before all of this info is made official. Stay tuned.
