Verizon has some big 5G news to share today.

Verizon has officially activated 5G uploads on its 5G network. Previously, customers on 5G were downloading using the 5G network but uploading over the 4G network. This means you should see faster uploads when you’re connected to 5G. Verizon says customers should see upload speeds on 5G that are 30% faster than 4G LTE.

5G uploads are available in all markets where Verizon’s 5G network is available, but the carrier cautions that its 5G upload coverage area differs from 5G download coverage area. This means that you may not see speedier uploads everywhere that you’re on Verizon’s 5G network.

In other news, Verizon says that it’s expanding its 5G network to another city. Verizon 5G will launch in San Diego on May 28. It’ll initially be available in parts of Mission Valley near Westfield Mission Valley and SDCCU Stadium, Linda Vista along Linda Vista Road, Kensington near El Cajon Blvd, and in Banker’s Hill on 1st Avenue.

San Diego will be the 35th city to get Verizon’s 5G network.
